EfMUN Erfurt 2025
This year’s delegates had the chance to participate at EfMUN 2025, an experience they probably will not forget that easily. Delegates began their journey in Erfurt with a guided city tour, exploring historical landmarks such as the grand Erfurt City Hall, the Old Synagogue, the medieval Kämerbrücke, and the magnificent Erfurt Cathedral.
The opening ceremony, held in the elegant ballroom of Town Hall, set the stage for three days of diplomatic discourse. Under the glow of chandeliers, committees, chairs, and tutors gathered to commence discussions on global challenges.
In the General Assembly Hall, our delegates engaged in insightful debates on the protection of journalists in armed conflicts, emphasizing the importance of press freedom and the safety of media personnel in war zones. Meanwhile, the Security Council tackled the urgent issue of sexual and gender-based violence in conflict areas, striving to formulate policies that address the vulnerabilities of affected communities. Over in the third committee being the United Nations Environmental Assembly, delegates focused on fostering sustainable management of chemicals and waste, underscoring the need for global cooperation in environmental protection.
Beyond formal sessions, EfMUN fostered connections through cultural activities. Delegates exchanged ideas in Erfurt’s charming cafés and attended a lively social evening at Presseklub, enhancing both professional and personal relationships.
The final day saw intense negotiations and successful amendments, culminating in FAUMUN’s impressive achievement, securing 9 awards. Their dedication and strategic diplomacy underscored the conference’s impact.
