Whether it is Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, or Emma Watson, all these names share one powerful quality: they are captivating public speakers who know how to make their words resonate. As FAUMUN delegates, we aspire to achieve that same level of impact when we deliver our speeches. Speaking effectively is one of our most frequent and crucial tasks, and to help us excel, we had the privilege of participating in a transformative speech training session.

Our training was led by Benjamin Klahr, a former FAUMUN delegate himself and proud alumnus with a background in journalism. With experience in radio and online media, Benjamin brought a wealth of knowledge, helping us move beyond simply delivering speeches to genuinely owning our words. He did not only focus on improving our speech mechanics; he also empowered us to speak with conviction and confidence, qualities that make any speech memorable and impactful.

Throughout the training, Benjamin guided us through exercises that strengthened our articulation, tone, and emotional delivery —essential components in what he called the “speech toolbox.” From vocal warm-ups to challenging articulation drills, each exercise pushed us to refine our skills, making us more comfortable and confident as speakers. By the end of the training, we felt a renewed sense of confidence in our ability to communicate effectively, knowing that we had the tools to make our voices heard, just like the influential speakers we admire.
